Successful restructuring program
in: Two states - one location, BBAA e.V., september 2005
At the end of last year it appeared as if the aircraft
manufacturer AQUILA, located in the state of Brandenburg was about to
close. However, thanks to a dedicated business-minded insolvency
administrator Dr. Bruno M. Kübler, the company went through a
thorough restructuring programme. With a new corporate concept and
management in hand, the small aircraft are now manufactured much more
efficiently and supplied to customers on time. Liquidator Kübler,
himself a pilot with an IFR license, who now manages the business,
introduced long overdue consolidation measures. Since March of this
year the aircraft manufacturer has produced and sold 10 planes. The
interest in the Aquila A 210 is still intense. Because the innovative
and modern two-seater small aircraft has a very good market potential,
the demand from within Germany and abroad is still evident. The
single-engine aircraft is manufactured primarily from carbon-fibre
materials, and is designed for both commercial and private use. At
present 25 workers are employed again, and Kübler is planning to
increase the workforce. In the medium-term the plan is to increase the
production rate to three aircraft per month.
